Description
Our curly-wing flies are part of the main livefood diet of many reptile and amphibian diets.
Please note these are supplied as castors.
They are easy to catch and highly nutritious. They are a great staple food for your reptile, amphibian, or invert. The fruit flies are dispatched directly from the breeder and will be gut-loaded before packing to make sure that they are as nutritious as possible on arrival.
In the store, we use the flies as staple food for our Dart Frogs, Mantises, and Spiders.
You’ll love them because:
- They are farm-bred in ethical conditions.
They are pre-fed to ensure your reptile is getting a healthy and nutritious meal.
Delivered straight to your door in good time.
Packaging
The flies will arrive in a ventilated plastic tub. Small air holes along the sides provide airflow while keeping the insects safely contained.
In warmer months, the outer cardboard box may have extra perforations for cooling. In colder months, we may include a plain white heat pack to help maintain a suitable temperature during transit.
Feeding Guide
If you want to keep the flies as nutritious as possible, we recommend feeding them a healthy diet right up until they’re used.
Offer fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potatoes; these provide hydration and essential nutrients.
You can also use specialist insect foods or gut-loading diets to boost their nutritional value for your reptile.
Remove any uneaten food daily to keep the enclosure clean and prevent mould or decay.
Well-fed curly-wing flies make for excellent food and are far more beneficial, helping support your reptile’s health and digestion. For more information on their diet, please consult our livefood care sheet. If you’re looking for other types of reptile food, we also stock frozen, animal-specific,vegetation, and supplement options.
